Prep Your Palette
To prevent paint from beading up in a plastic palette, “prep,” a new palette’s mixing surface by scrubbing it with an abrasive brush and soapy water.
Never let your paintbrush sit in your water cup, as it may ruin the shape and integrity of the handle.
Hold your paintbrush straight and use light pressure to achieve a thin line, and at an angle with more pressure to fill in larger areas.
